My name is Nathaniel Lomax, I am a 90 year old and I have been burning dvd videos of my great grand children as the grow up so they can have them to look back upon them in the future. I am using a Dell computer with windows 10,but, recently, I can no longer copy and paste and have been trying to download rdpclip.exe file version 10.0.15063.0. winBuild1601o1.o800 using
pconlife. All goes well until I reach the point where I have to paste the final rdpclip.exe into the path as C:\windows\winsx\x86_microsoft windows etc. I have no idea as how to do that and therefore respectfully request your assistance in explaining to me the step-by-step how to do so.. This project means so much to me.
Thanking you in advance and looking forward to hearing from you, I remain, Nathaniel Lomax.
I don't think it's the problem of this file, but the operating system lacks some settings, so you can't copy and paste on the remote machine. There are two reasons:
1. The remote desktop connection option is not configured well
2. rdpclip.exe service fails
First, open the "Task Manager" and see if there is an rdpclip.exe file running. If not, click "Start"-"Run"-enter "rdpclip.exe" and click "OK", as shown below:
Step 2: Open a new command window, enter "msts", and run it, as shown in the figure below
After running, the Remote Desktop Connection dialog box opens.
1. Click the Local Resources tab at the top.
2. Click the Local Resources button, then check the Printer and Clipboard options, and then click the Details button at the bottom.
3. In the new interface that pops up, check "Port", check all the items under "Drive", and then click "OK".
Step 3: You need to modify the group policy settings and disable the "Do not allow clipboard redirection" policy.
Computer Configuration \ Administrative Templates \ Windows Components \ Remote Desktop Services \ Remote Desktop Session Hosts \ Device and Resource Redirection \ Do not allow clipboard redirection
